Jessa Doydora

Jessa Doydora is a director and writer whose films explore women’s struggles, socio-political issues, and the personal as a form of protest. Her filmography includes Eklipse (2019), which received multiple awards, including Best Narrative at Piling Obrang Vidyo XVI and the Golden Award, Special Jury Award, and Best Director at Silip@Lente Realifilm 2019. The film was also selected for Gawad Alternatibo 2020 and One Earth Awards 2022. Her earlier film, Press Pause and Play (2018), received 13 awards at the Cinemorayta Film Festival 2018 and was selected for Viddsee Juree Philippines 2019 and Piling Obrang Vidyo XV. Her other works include Kris+ina (2022), selected for Lift-Off Filmmaker Sessions and a quarter-finalist at the Student World Impact Film Festival; BUKO (2021), which premiered at Sinepiyu XIII; and Anak-ilog (2021). Alongside her directing and writing practice, Doydora is an emerging production manager and producer working on commercial and brand projects.
