Stewart Applegath was born in Toronto in 1959. He studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax and in 1993 received an M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. A prolific videographer, Stewart Applegath's work positions itself between documentary and situational practice.
