Lin Yingtao, who grew up in the Mount Qun worksite, encounters Jiang Qiaoxi, the transfer student. Jiang Qiaoxi is a loner. He's transferred to Mount Qun Primary School due to his father's job transfer. Jiang Qiaoxi encounters Yingtao at the principal's office by accident, where she's trying to steal a book. Yingtao misunderstands the encounter and thinks that he's the Grim Reaper. She tries to resolve the crisis by bribing him with candies and requesting her classmates to welcome Jiang Qiaoxi with open arms.

Lin Yingtao's beloved rabbit dies. She wants to tell Jiang Qiaoxi, who loves the rabbit as much as she does, about it. She finally decides to gather the letters she has written over the years into a notebook and send the notebook to him.

After transferring to a new school, Lin Yingtao moves with her family to the Dianjian residential compound. The parents warmly welcome them and celebrate their arrival. Meanwhile, Jiang Qiaoxi’s behavior is puzzling. He shows care for Yingtao in front of others, yet privately probes her feelings toward him.

Yu Qiao suggests going to the aquarium which Qin Yeyun wants to go but Yu Qiao and Yingtao are the only ones who go there. Cen Xiaoman and Fei Linge take pictures of Yu Qiao and Yingtao having fun and gossip about their relationship.

Yingtao finds a stray cat in the school's courtyard. She never expects Jiang Qiaoxi to be its secret owner. Yingtao sees the gentle look on his face when he cares for the cat. She's reminded of her rabbit, which he neglected.

Jiang Qiaoxi tells Yingtao what happened in the past. He once ran away from home in order to keep the promise he made to him, but he failed. Yingtao is heartbroken upon hearing that.

The students misunderstand the relationship between Lin Yingtao and Yu Qiao. Puzzled by the weird looks from them, they decide to ask Fei Linge about it.

Ying Tao and Yu Qiao join the after-school tuition class together. Physics is a tough subject for her. She always fails to understand it. Yu Qiao believs that one has to have fun in order to learn. He brings Ying Tao outside for her to experience the charm of Physics.

Ying Tao is unhappy that Qin Ye Yun stood her up but she doesn't know that Qin Ye Yun is absent because his father has been hospitalized. Thus, Ying Tao doesn't know how to comfort Qin Ye Yun...

Jiang Qiao Xi finally gathers the courage to tell his uninvolved father how he has felt all these years. At the same time, Lin Ying Tao stands up to Chen Xiao Man's accusations and provocations by boldly speaking her mind.

Lin Yingtao faces Liang Hongfei bravely. Jiang Qiaoxi gives Yingtao a letter through the window after finding out what she did for him.

Under Yingtao's care and encouragement, Jiang Qiaoxi completes the Mathematical Olympiad exam despite feeling unwell.

Seeing how much Lin Yingtao cares for him, Jiang Qiaoxi decides to reclaim his life.

Lin Yingtao and Jiang Qiaoxi treat his young landlord, who has been looking after Jiang Qiaoxi, to a meal. The landlord feels genuinely happy for Jiang Qiaoxi.

Lin Yingtao and Jiang Qiaoxi have a long-distance relationship. They bond through making video calls frequently. They stare out at each of their windows respectively, yet their hearts inch closer.
