Episode 1

When Charlie Xie, the son of a prominent real estate developer, turns up dead, Detective Jo Bradley gets her first case as lead – the same day she also receives devastating personal news.

As the Xie family struggles to accept Charlie's death, Jo finds evidence pointing to the killer, though the motive remains hidden.

Episode 3

Jo and Gorski catch a break in the case, forcing the Xies to close ranks on the investigation. Jo's cancer is interfering with her work and Teresa's condition worsens.

Evan brings Ron Xie in for questioning. Victor Li and his son Zhongchen continue their push to buy Xie Holdings. Ron discovers the Li’s backed the smear campaign against him. Ron tells his bodyguard to destroy evidence linking him to Jennifer Liu.

Evan brings Teresa in for questioning. Anna and Zhongchen struggle to keep their relationship a secret. Victor visits Weiran and powerful emotions are aroused. Jo receives a new batch of letters.
